Working with experts in the energy efficiency industry, we have implemented a ‘total systems approach’ to energy efficiency when designing and building our new homes. Combining computer modeling, air infiltration control methods, HVAC system design, blown-in cellulose insulation, other products and procedures, as well as individual home testing, we continuously work to improve our homes’ energy usage and do our part to protect the environment.
Our Home Owners will not only know the cost of buying their new home, but they will know the heating and cooling energy usage as well for two years. We have met or exceeded all the requirements to assure the guarantee of heating and cooling energy usage for two years, otherwise the independent inspection company will pay the difference to you. This is the Energy Performance Guarantee!
Energy efficient units from Trane.
When combined, these elements reduce a home's energy consumption.
We have partnered with Texas Home Energy Professionals to provide a guarantee on the energy used to heat and cool your home. In order to provide this guarantee we have each home tested and inspected 4 times by an independent inspection company. Tests and inspections are performed three times during construction and once at the completion of construction. During construction the Poly Seal inspection, Duct Blast test and Insulation inspection ensure the exterior walls are properly sealed and insulated prior to installing sheetrock. By performing and passing these three inspections, we are able to achieve required ACH during the Blower Door test at the end of construction. Proper air seal and install of insulation are crucial to our Energy Performance Guarantee.
Our windows are double paned LOW-E vinyl. These materials minimalize convective heat transfer and will lower your energy consumption.
Our 14 inch I-Joist engineered flooring system allows us to install insulated ductwork without compression.
In the walls and attics. Completely fills all voids to fully insulate. Noise reduction, fire resistance and pest treatment are added bonuses.
Pex plumbing system is resistant to scale and chlorine, doesn’t corrode or develop pinholes and is more resistant to freeze breakage than copper or rigid plastic pipe. Pex tubing is quieter and does not transfer heat as readily as copper pipe systems which contributes to the home’s overall energy efficiency.
Aren't they pretty?
This is a very important structural system that is composed of braced panels. These panels counter the effects of lateral forces from wind or seismic activity. What in the world does that mean? It means that wind won’t cause the walls of your home to twist sideways.
According to the Department of Energy you can save as much as 10% a year on heating and cooling by turning your thermostat back 7 - 10 degrees for 8 hours a day. Energy savings become automatic when using a programmable thermostat to keep track of when and how much to adjust the temperature in your home.
When the home is nearly complete, our new home owners meet their builder for a new home orientation. Prior to that meeting we conduct an intensive inspection of each home. This inspection is carried out by our warranty team and/or production managers. This ensures we have found all of our mistakes and corrected them before you do!
