Building Homes That Make a Difference
The Cherry family celebrated the closing of their new Antares Home in early February, 2010. Alan and Dondi Cherry, the new owners, tell us that their family is a blended family of seven that includes four girls and one boy.
Alan has worked at Microsoft for eleven years and Dondi works at Racetrac. Antares is so excited to welcome the Cherry family to the community of Crescent Springs Ranch in Crowley, Texas which is located just south of Fort Worth.
The home was built by Antares Homes to benefit the Homes for Hope charity.
Proceeds from the sale of this home will provide micro-loans for hundreds of hardworking entrepreneurs around the world, giving hope and helping families escape the cycle of poverty.
Starting at only $50, these loans enable individual entrepreneurs to start or expand their small businesses in places like Haiti, Congo, Afghanistan, and The Philippines, creating a steady income that will lift their families out of poverty.
"We are one of only a few builders in the local area that have grown during this economic downturn", said Ron Formby, the owner of Antares Homes. "We are excited to give back in this way. The trade partners of Antares Homes really stepped up to donate both materials and labor to build this home and maximize the contribution to Hope International. We are so excited to be involved with something that has this much impact."
